King County North Mercer Island Enatai Sewer Upgrade Project
October 2024
Sewer shutoff near Fruitland Landing planned for October 23
Expect flaggers in the area as crews prepare for pipe relining
As early as October 21, crews will begin work to connect the new sewer pipes at the intersection of 97th Avenue Southeast and Southeast 34th Street. This work requires a temporary shutoff of the local sewer utility. The shutoff is expected to begin on October 23 at approximately 8:00 a.m. The shutoff is expected to last four to six hours and will not exceed eight hours. We will flyer the specific homes on 97th Ave S.E. and S.E. 34th St that will be affected by the shutoff and provide more information about what to expect.
Flaggers will direct traffic while crews are working in the maintenance hole at the intersection of 97th Ave S.E. and S.E. 34th St. Please drive slowly through the area and follow directions from flaggers when they are present. Driveway access will be maintained throughout this work.
*What’s coming up in the area:*
Connecting the new pipes is part of preparation work to reline the existing pipe on 97th Ave S.E. north of S.E. 34th St. This pipe is connected to Lift Station 11 at Fruitland Landing. Crews plan to reline this existing pipe later this fall.
Crews have also been finishing work on the new pipe that was installed on 97th Ave S.E. south of S.E. 34th St. Crews will pave the area after this work on the new pipe and relining work on the existing pipe are completed.
