Conservation Tip: Fishing Fun for Everyone

Do you enjoy fishing? It's a fantastic outdoor activity for all ages, offering a chance to learn new skills or refine old ones. Whether you’re fishing for sport and releasing your catch, or catching fish to cook at home, it’s a great way to spend time outdoors. This spring, several of the City’s park ponds were stocked, including those at Antrim, Franklin, Goodale, Krumm, Linden, Schiller and Westgate parks. These ponds will be restocked in the fall with a variety of fish. *Fishing Tips:*


* *For Kids: *Keep trips short, and take lots of pictures!

* *Bait: *Use live bait to increase your chances of catching fish.

* *Have Fun:* Stay positive and encouraging, even if the fish aren’t biting.

* *Hydrate: *Bring plenty of water.

* *Clean Up: *Take all lines, bait, tackle and trash with you—leave no trace.

*Good to Know: *Youth under 16 can fish in public ponds without an Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) fishing license. For those over 16, you can get a resident 1-day license for $14 or a resident 1-year license for $25 online or from local retailers.
