Child with Mother Getting a Shot by Doctor
The Connecting Kids to Coverage National Campaign
invites you to attend a webinar:
*Gearing Up to Learn with Medicaid and CHIP
**Wednesday, July 24, 2024
**2 – 3 P.M. ET*.
The Back-to-School season is a busy one. From finishing summer reading assignments to stocking up on school supplies, families have a lot to do as kids prepare to head back to the classroom. It’s also a time when health coverage should be top of mind for parents and caregivers, as many kids need physicals and updated immunizations before returning to school. With health coverage through Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), kids and teens can get access to routine care like well-child visits and vaccines so they can start the new school year strong. Schools also serve as a key access point for care, including offering mental health services, dental care and eye exams.
In this webinar, panelists will discuss how Medicaid and CHIP help students get ready for the new school year. Speakers will provide an overview of the comprehensive services covered by Medicaid and CHIP, then discuss the importance and integration of school-based health services and highlight resources to promote health in schools. In addition, a current Connecting Kids to Coverage grantee will share their experience collaborating with schools and families to get kids connected to coverage and care. The Campaign will also showcase school-based materials to support outreach efforts and provide time for Q&A.
