We want to know what challenges renters are facing, what policies or resources would help renters stay housed, and how the City can better support renters - especially those most at risk of displacement.

Get Engaged Boards & Commissions Application Open Through April 25

The City of Seattle and the YMCA Social Impact Center are excited to announce that the Get Engaged program is now accepting applications!

The Get Engaged program places individuals ages 18-29 on the City of Seattle’s boards and commissions (including one position on the Seattle Renters' Commission). Get Engaged board members serve a one-year term as fully vested and voting members starting in September.

Acting in an advisory capacity to the Mayor and City Council, board members help shape policy decisions, make recommendations, and provide citizen participation in city government. Since 2001, the Get Engaged program has been dedicated to cultivating the next generation of leaders and advocating for the influence of young voices in city affairs.

Applications for the 2025-2026 term will be accepted until *Friday, April 25th at 11:59pm.*
