Open Streets

This Saturday, May 22, residents are encouraged to dress in their hippie best and join the City of Tampa/OnBikes’ Open Streets event (https://www.onbikes.org/bikestock/) ! Bayshore Blvd will be closed from 3pm-7pm for two-wheeled traffic only from Swann Ave. to Bay to Bay Blvd. Open Streets supports Mayor Jane Castor’s Vision Zero initiative (https://www.tampa.gov/visionzero) in improving pedestrian safety with the goal of zero traffic fatalities. This Open Streets event is free and open to the public, but RSVPs are encouraged (https://www.eventliveus.com/purchase/event/2214316) .

Tampa Pride 2021 Diversity Parade

Mayor Jane Castor has officially proclaimed Saturday, May 22, 2021 as “Tampa Pride Day!” Celebrate our City’s diversity this weekend by attending the various Tampa Pride events (https://tampapride.org/#calendar) , like the Tampa Pride Diversity Parade (https://tampapride.org/schedule/diversity-parade/) in historic Ybor City. The parade will start at 4:00pm in front of Centro Ybor with a special community tribute, then wind its way east from the corner of Nuccio Parkway and 7th Avenue, down 7th Avenue to 20th Street.
