Elderly people are not the only victims of telephone deception these days. Younger generations are also being victimized.

These days, scam calls are not only made to home landlines, but also to personal cell phones.
Here are some examples of scam tactics.
? Callers claiming to be police officers from the "XX Prefectural Police Investigation Section 2", and saying that
・ your account is being used for money laundering
・ your account is being used for Oreore fraud
and so on, as if you are suspected of a crime, to arouse your anxiety.
? Next, they will lead you to contact them on a social networking messaging application and ask to speak with them on a video call. During the video call, they will show you a fake police report, arrest warrant, or send you images to make you believe they are real police officers, and then they will try to defraud you by making you transfer money to them under the pretext of an investigation.

・ They will also try to keep you in the dark by telling you that
・ you have a duty of confidentiality
and that you will be incriminated if you reveal anything to them.
This is a scam and you should be brave enough to consult your local Yamatake police before transferring any money.

The best way to avoid becoming a victim of phone deception is not to answer calls from the perpetrator.
Do not answer incoming calls from long-digit international numbers, unknown phone numbers and blocked numbers.
Some telecommunication carriers' services or smartphone functions may allow you to block incoming calls from blocked or unknown numbers.
