Hurricane Debby Information
City of Tampa offices and services are open today (August 5), including trash, recycling, SWEEP, and yard waste collections.

Sandbags: Over the weekend, the City of Tampa opened three sandbag distribution sites and distributed over 32,000 sandbags to Tampa residents. If sandbags were not exposed to floodwaters, residents are encouraged to keep and store sandbags for future preparedness. If they have been exposed to floodwaters, residents should NOT place sandbags in any City-issued solid waste container. Those wanting to immediately dispose of sandbags are encouraged to bring them to the City of Tampa McKay Bay Scale House (114 S 34th St).

Self Report Storm Damage: After every storm, the City of Tampa’s Public Works and Code Enforcement teams report damages to Hillsborough County and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). By filling out the Resident Damage Self-Reporting Form at tampa.gov/SelfReport (https://www.tampa.gov/SelfReport) , residents can help city crews identify damages more efficiently and report back to county, state, and federal authorities. This form does not replace a homeowner’s private property insurance claims.

Flood Map and Report Street Flooding: See
real-time flooding information at tampa.gov/FloodMap (https://www.tampa.gov/FloodMap) . Residents may report flooded street locations to 813-274-3278. Due to the high volume of calls, the main line may have a wait time. If so, residents can also call 813-399-0250.

Stay Informed and Prepared: Visit tampa.gov/hurricane (https://www.tampa.gov/hurricane) for disaster preparedness information. Register for Alert Tampa emergency alerts and text TAMPAREADY or TAMPALISTA to 888-777 for emergency text alerts. Follow Alert Tampa (https://www.tampa.gov/alerttampa) and the City of Tampa on social media (https://tampa.gov/socialmedia) for storm updates and City information throughout the year.

Vegetative Storm Debris: Tampa Solid Waste will soon begin curbside collection of vegetative storm debris. Curbside collection may not occur on your regular service day, so please leave vegetative storm debris curbside until collected. Place vegetative storm debris curbside in a pile, or in a non-city issued garbage container. Note: Vegetative debris in plastic bags, or city issued garbage or recycling carts is not accepted. Vegetative storm debris only includes shrubs, palm fronds, tree limbs, grass, leaves, twigs, or branches.
