*About the Role:*
The King County Wastewater Treatment Division is seeking an enthusiastic, strategic, agile, and collaborative leader to support the strategy and standardization of our growing capital program while maintaining a focus on the quality of the projects delivered as we grow. We need a proven leader who will leverage their project management, construction management, and contracting expertise and experience to strategically support the growing CIP and help implement sustaining and consistent tools and standards across all projects and programs while advancing equity in capital and in alignment with WTD initiatives.
The successful candidate will collaborate with all business sections of our utility, other King County departments and leadership, regional partner agencies, elected, and community-based organizations and will support the following work groups.
* *Capital Strategy:* This effort includes the organizational strategy to support the growing capital program. Examples of this strategy already being implemented that will require further support are the implementation of collaborative delivery, procurement strategies, and facility program management.
* *Capital Quality and Standards:* This Program supports the implementation sustaining and consistent tools and standards across all projects/ programs while maintaining alignment with WTD initiatives. This Program also includes the Capital Training Program.
* *Workforce Development Program:* This program is designed to recruit, hire, and on-board staff into WTD’s capital program and provide and introduction to all functional units and a general understanding of the entire utility.
* *Capital Infrastructure Coordination: *This Program supports the coordination between capital projects/ programs and the operational needs of the utility. This program aims to strengthen relationships between operations and capital while supporting operations in a smooth transition of projects.
* *Capital Continuous Improvement and Lessons Learned:* This program documents, facilitates, and promotes the implementation of learned lessons in all aspects of the utility.
* *Equity in Capital:* This program coordinates with all other sections and units in WTD to advance equity in our capital program in contracts, outreach to contractors and consultants, and support the communities we serve.

Our regional wastewater treatment system has a big job to do. Not only does it operate around the clock to sustain a healthy environment, but this vital infrastructure also supports economic development that enables our region to thrive. You will have the unique opportunity to work with across all wastewater workgroups and lines of business to help shape how we as a utility adapt and respond to changing regulations and build infrastructure for future generations. You will be a key part of one of King County’s largest, most complex capital programs with a variety of interesting, challenging, and critical projects. You will be supporting the growth and strategic development of the largest capital program in King County with projects and programs stretching across 2200 square miles.
