*Multiple agencies continue search for missing swimmer on Tuesday*

‘ANINI – Multiple agencies continue to search for a missing 59-year-old Arizona man in waters off ‘Anini Beach on Tuesday.

Hanalei firefighters, ocean safety officers, Kaua‘i police, the U.S. Coast Guard, KFD’s on-duty battalion chief and volunteers from Kaua‘i Search and Rescue are currently on scene.

A multi-agency search initiated shortly after 12:15 p.m. on Sunday, when a group of snorkelers realized one person in their group did not return to shore. The missing snorkeler was last seen at approximately 11:45 a.m. on Sunday near the back channel of ‘Anini Beach. The search continued on Monday, and resumed Tuesday morning. So far, there has been no sign of the man.

The search will continue Tuesday until sunset, and will resume on Wednesday at daylight.

Updates on the search effort will be given as information becomes available.
