The city continues to monitor Hurricane Helene’s track and will activate its Emergency Operations Center to a Level II Partial Activation tomorrow at 9 a.m.
City departments continue to take precautionary measures for any potential impacts from the storm and advise the following:
SANDBAG DISTRIBUTION
In preparation for the storm, city residents can pick-up sandbags at any of the self-serve Orange County park’s six locations until 7 p.m. today, weather permitting.

CITY CLOSURES
The following city facilities will be closed on Thursday, September 26.
* The City of Orlando’s non-essential offices and services, including City Hall
* All City of Orlando neighborhood centers and pools
* Harry P. Leu Gardens
* Lake Eola Park Swan Boats
City of Orlando After School Programs will be open Thursday, September 26, from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. for students already enrolled at any of these four sites:
* Dr. James R. Smith Neighborhood Center
* Grand Avenue Neighborhood Center
* Dover Shores Neighborhood Center
* Rosemont Neighborhood Centers
CITY OPERATIONS
Solid Waste
At this time, residential and commercial trash, yard waste and recycle pick up is expected to operate normally on Thursday, September 26.
All residents are encouraged to bag and/or bundle loose yard waste. Yard waste should never be placed on top of or in front of storm drains or in roadways.
If Thursday is not your yard waste day, please do not place any yard waste items for collection at your curb, and instead, secure it as best you can and place it near your home.
Stormwater
City crews continue to monitor lake levels, inlets, lake outfalls and drainage well intakes. If you experience flooding, please visit orlando.gov/flood or call 407.246.2238.
Transportation
SunRail service has suspended its operations for Thursday, September 26.

Tree Emergency
To report a down tree, call the non-emergency line at 407.246.2283. For emergency issues that require immediate attention, please call 9-1-1.
Power Outage
For power outages and downed power lines, OUC customers can call 407-423-9018 or by texting “OUT” to 69682.
