2023/7/20(Thu)21(Fri) Screening of the movie "Yayoi Kusama ∞ INFINITY
This is an inspiring documentary about the powerful and dramatic life of an artistic genius and a woman.
boccs, the exchange base in front of Iwai station, holds monthly "boccs cinema", a movie screening for learning and exchange. After watching a movie, we have a dialogue session （ free participation ・ for about 20 minutes ） to share our impressions.
In July, "Yayoi Kusama ∞ INFINITY" will be shown on two consecutive days.
Yayoi Kusama has been expressing her unique art for over 70 years and was named one of TIMES Magazine's 100 most influential people in the world in 2016.
When she was still an unknown artist, she went to the United States on her own to pursue her own artistic heights. This film captures her life from her childhood awakening to art to her immigration to the United States. The film also shows Kusama's unknown past, including her creative activities in the turbulent 1960s in New York, how her works were evaluated both in Japan and abroad, and the influence she had on artists working in the United States.
Drinks and snacks will be served. Please come and watch it at the venue.
