2022/23 Season MET Opera Appreciation ＆ Last minute study group ： 1st "L'Elisir d'Amore" by Donizetti

On September 27, the Metropolitan ・ Opera opens with "Media" by Cherubini, and the season continues until next June. The Japan Club will co-host the popular annual Opera Appreciation ＆ Study Session just prior to the Opera Appreciation ！ with （ Representative ： Sumiko Ito ） of the "Let's Explore the Pleasures of Opera " promoter's group . The theme of this season's viewing parties is "Love". The first program will be a masterpiece of Bel Canto ・ opera, "The Wonderful Medicine of Love" by Donizetti. We hope you will join us to see how love is spoken and sung. Tickets are approximately 20% off and are available in the Grand Tier （ 2nd floor ）. From here you will have a good view of the entire stage, close proximity to the singers, and excellent acoustics.

In addition, a study session will be held in the evening of the day before the concert to allow the participants to get to know each other better. ！ The more one prepares for the opera, the more enjoyable it is to enjoy the opera with those close to you. The last minute study session is open to everyone, including those who are interested in the opera, not limited to the participants of the appreciation event.

The Elixir of Love by Donizetti "L'Elisir d'Amore"

Bel Canto ・ A masterpiece of opera. Donizetti is famous for his tragedies, but this is an opera with a heartwarming story full of humanity. Nemorino, a naive farmer who has a fierce crush on the farmer's daughter, pays a fortune to acquire a "love potion" advertised by a traveling medicine seller. Will he be able to win the heart of the intelligent and self-respecting young lady? It is also frequently sung in concert. We are looking forward to hearing tenor Javier ・ Camarena, who is also well-known for his singing in the "Let's explore the joys of opera ！" event.
