OCCHE Alert: New Updates on the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and Approaches to State-level Engagement in Upcoming OCCHE Sessions
________________________________________________________________________
Please mark your calendars for two exciting upcoming webinar sessions from the Office of Climate Change and Health Equity (OCCHE)!
The first session is intended for all health sector stakeholders and especially safety net providers and it launches the second phase of our *Catalytic Program* [ https://click.connect.hhs.gov/?qs=aebe96d4aea5e926ef2f421eccb0cbe6d4eb786317c3d394f565c16f188781786f6db26de8657c87887117a4595cda007b3d807fbd5c0cbf ] on the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). This series documents the exciting opportunities for investments in clean energy, building efficiency and facility resilience created by this historic legislation. This session, scheduled for June 6th at noon eastern, will feature special guests who will describe the Environmental Protection Agency’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) in greater detail and also provide an update on the "Low"-"Income Communities" Bonus Credit Program from the Internal Revenue Service (which can increase the amount of investment tax credits for clean-energy investments). While the session will be recorded (like all *prior sessions* [ https://click.connect.hhs.gov/?qs=aebe96d4aea5e926ef2f421eccb0cbe6d4eb786317c3d394f565c16f188781786f6db26de8657c87887117a4595cda007b3d807fbd5c0cbf ]), we encourage you to attend in person so that you can ask questions of the presenters. You can register for the session *here* [ https://click.connect.hhs.gov/?qs=aebe96d4aea5e92663d8407bbb651afa3a658d4b2265a731e50941df7509a407fde568f7c802b57a38b35c4ac7b31c7b53d3a1fce4696841 ].
In addition, state hospital associations and other state-level organizations are invited to join a discussion of how best to support action on sustainability at the state level. On June 5th at noon eastern, the Ohio Hospital Association will join OCCHE to describe how they’ve facilitated work on sustainability and resilience in support of their members, including taking advantage of opportunities like the IRA. The session is intended to leave associations with practical strategies for developing compelling educational content and spurring urgently needed action to address climate-related challenges. The session will include reflections from individual hospitals that have benefitted from state-level support. It will also include time for questions and interaction. Associations are invited to register *here* [ https://click.connect.hhs.gov/?qs=aebe96d4aea5e926bc873caf7777170d91cd6f9c3619a2571ce0179716b947a9dba4d29c2d842a86cbd28ce1ea8c3495cd279687ec58ba4e ].
