Special Exhibition "Inishigae, I love it ！ － Cultural History of Early Modern Koko Zukuroku －"

Various old objects （ from stamps to furnishings ） A gaze in pursuit of old objects
"Kitanokaku Shukocho", a collection of illustrations of old objects compiled in the late Edo period ・ Actual and reproductions of old objects depicted therein, including imitations, are also exhibited.

There is always a yearning for old things （ and old vessels ）. Every history lover must be familiar with the desire to actually collect objects, or if that is not possible, to have just a picture of the object at hand.
Among the Rekihaku's collection is a collection of illustrated books called "聆涛閣集古帖\ (聆涛閣集古帖)" compiled in the late Edo period (1603-1868). It was compiled by the Yoshida family, a wealthy merchant in Kobe ・ Sumiyoshi, Hyogo Prefecture, over three generations, and is equivalent to today's "illustrated catalogs" or "catalogs". It is a large collection of images of approximately 2,400 pieces of famous historical materials in a variety of genres, including archaeological materials, documents ・ and classics, arts and crafts, etc., all illustrated with exquisite brush strokes. These are the protagonists of this special exhibition.
In the Edo period (1603-1868), there were many people called "Koka-ke" who loved old things. They often made sketches of their own collections or of old objects they had seen and compiled them in the form of "Koko Zufu" (illustrated collection of old objects). Not only that, this information was shared with other antiquarians in different parts of the country.
What is the current state of these painted ancient artifacts ？ This exhibition aims to reproduce the two-dimensional world in three dimensions by collecting and displaying the originals and reproductions ・ of these artifacts in three dimensions.
Through exhibits on the background of the compilation of the Yoshida family's collection, which emerges from materials related to the Yoshida family's compilation of "Kinko-kaku-shu-kocho," the rich collection formerly owned by the Yoshida family, the world of Shosoin treasures and their reproductions, which were of increasing interest during the same period, and the network of the Yoshida family, the exhibition will also provide a unique opportunity for visitors to learn about the history of the Yoshida family before the modern museum was established. Through these exhibits, the richness of the collection, the world of Shosoin treasures and their reproductions, and the network of the Koko family will be revealed.
