An exciting end-of-summer event, the "32nd Aio Shrimp Hunting World Championships" will be held
August 31 （ Saturday ） at Tada Beach, Nakamichi (Chudo) Beach, Akiho, Yamaguchi City.

This event is held annually from late August to early September by Akiho, the "birthplace of kurumaebi aquaculture".
About 250 kg of live tiger prawns are released into the mud flats of Nakamichi Beach, and the contestants catch the prawns by hand as they dive underwater or in the sand.
Winners （ 1 ～ 3rd ） will be decided by the number of prawns caught and awarded.

Participants are decided by lottery, but the number of applicants increases every year, and in recent years the competition has remained competitive at around 40 times.
There will also be a "fun raffle" with prizes such as saikyo pickled tiger prawns, rice, and other local specialties.
