Andy's Orchids
in Encinitas, CA

We are pleased to announce our first Spring Open House of the year, 3/18(Fri.)-3/20(Sun.). Andy's Orchids
It's a very special place.
There are over 700,000 pots and over 7,000 varieties of plants and flowers from all over the world, forming a jungle of less than an acre.

Among them are not only Japanese orchids, but also decades-old ghost orchids and other species that seem to be in danger of losing their homes and becoming extinct due to environmental destruction.
For this reason, they are also called the "Noah's Ark of Orchids".

Usually, we sell mainly online, but during the Open House, which is held four times a year in spring, summer, fall, and winter, you can enter for free without reservations. You can see and touch the orchids and buy the one you like on the spot. You can also see how the orchids are cultivated, and most importantly, you can talk directly with the owners and their experienced staff.

By the way, the owner Andy Phillip
first met orchids when he was 7 years old. He was given two different orchids as a casual gift, but Andy couldn't believe it.
"How come? Why ? are there so many different colors and shapes ? for example, roses? \Even though there are differences in color and size of rose flowers, the varieties ・ are quite similar even though they are different. Why are orchids so different ・ from each other ? and yet they are the same
decades later....
I was shocked and questioned by my childhood, and I kept my curiosity and passion for orchids........

It became a rare and special place in the world, also called Noah's Ark ( Orchid version ).

This is a working nursery, not a retail shop, so some of the greenhouses with narrow aisles are difficult for wheelchairs. But you don't have to go deep into the jungle to enjoy it. The large dome-like sycamore near the entrance is more than 80 years old and is surrounded by many booths. There is much more to see than just the jungle.

Surrounded by orchids grown with love in this special place, it will be a special weekend and inspiration.
