Beware of fictitious billing scams!

Chiba Chuo Police Station informs.

A caller has received a call today in Matsunami 3-chome, Chuo-ku, Chiba, Japan, warning of a fictitious billing scam.
The message reads, "You have the right to install panels for an electrical company, and we want you to give them to us." The caller states, "You have the right to install the panels of the electric company, and we want you to give it to us.
These tactics are to deceive you into believing that there is a monetary return and demand a procedural fee, then allege that the contract is illegal and that you will go to court, etc., and demand money in the name of court costs, settlement money, etc.
Once you have paid the money, they will demand money again and again, and the final damage may amount to tens of millions of dollars.
If you receive a suspicious call, consult your family and call 110 or the nearest police station.

With the expected increase in incidents and accidents over the coming year-end and New Year holidays, there is a risk of an increase in "phone deception" as well. Please be aware that there have been a number of phone calls in Chuo-ku that are signs of fraud ！
