A number of phone de scams have been reported in Kashiwa City, deceptively claiming to be police officers of the Metropolitan Police Department.

Between September 14 and 16, there were a number of phone deception victims in Kashiwa City.
The calls were made by a person claiming to be a police officer of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department and saying, "Your account is being used for a crime, and we need the funds to avoid arrest." The victim was then asked to transfer money to the designated account.
The victims are in their 20s to 40s and not necessarily elderly.
If you pick up such a call, hang up the phone immediately and consult the police or a family member.
In addition, it is important to eliminate talking to the perpetrator to prevent damage from telephone deception, so take measures to avoid becoming a victim of telephone deception, such as always setting your home landline phone to an answering machine or purchasing an anti-virus device.
