In order to achieve both carbon neutrality and sustainable development of the local economy, a new "Ichihara City Global Warming Action Plan" was launched in April 2024, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the city by 42.2% ( compared to FY2013 ) by FY2030.
We also aim to become a "Zero Carbon City" by 2050, reducing greenhouse gas emissions to virtually zero !
The things we do in our daily lives can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
For example, when taking a bath, be conscious of turning off the water frequently when using the shower.
Using the shower for one minute produces 12 gallons of hot water per minute. If a family of four showers for four minutes each, the amount of hot water used is almost equal to the volume of a full bathtub.
If you stop showering frequently, you will save about 4 m3 of water per year, which is about 1,140 yen, and about 13 m3 of gas per year, which is about 2,070 yen, for a total savings of about 3,210 yen. ?
