A telephone deception scam occurred in our precinct from January 22, 2024 to February 18, 2024.

Fictitious claim fraud

[Description]
A person pretending to be related to the distribution of assets sent a message via SNS or message function, saying "750 million yen in property distribution was won. After receiving a message from a person claiming to be related to the distribution of assets, the person said, "You have won the distribution of 850 million yen worth of livelihood support money." After receiving a message that "You need to pay a fee in order to receive it. The victim was then contacted and asked to pay with electronic money, and was cheated out of the electronic money.

[Countermeasures]
Suspect a "scam" when "urgent" "money" is discussed.
Always consult the police or a family member before issuing money （ or electronic money ）.
