How to determine the primary doctor

When I search the HMSA website for a doctor near my home （ Punahou School ） ＋ who can accept new patients, most of them are from Queens or Straub.
I have no pre-existing conditions and what I am looking for is a small clinic doctor. Even when I find some, they have poor Yelp ratings or when I call, they tell me they don't accept new patients.
I don't know anyone and can't ask for a referral somewhere. How did you all find one ？ or would it be better to go to Urgent Care if I get sick ？?
