Obtaining a social security number, etc.

I am looking for a way to stay in the U.S. for as long as possible.

I am currently on a student visa to attend a language school near Hollywood for about a year, but
my financial situation is tight due to the prolonged depreciation of the yen, and I am looking for a way to work legally, such as part-time.

I am planning to stay longer than a year, so I would like to be eligible to work
such as OPT or a social security number, rather than simply making money on the spot, UNDER THE TABLE.

I believe I can work on campus and for limited hours on a student visa, but the on-campus slots are already filled.

For example, I understand that social security numbers are usually not available for international students, but is there any way to get one?
I am thinking of switching visa types, transferring to a school that issues social security numbers ？ ・ ・ ・ etc.
