This full-day tour will visit small towns that still retain vestiges of the pioneer days of the West. We invite everyone to join us.
■ Los Alamos
Los Alamos is a small town in the Santa Ynez Valley, about 2.5 hours north of Los Angeles. It is a town where time seems to have stopped, with buildings from the western frontier of the late 19th century still standing. The town was founded in 1876 as a stopover for stagecoach travelers to rest during their journeys. Later, a passenger railroad station was built, and the town flourished as a place where travelers came and went. There are also many wineries in the vicinity of Los Alamos, where visitors can enjoy wine tasting and antique stores.
■ Montecito
An upscale residential area in the suburbs of Santa Barbara. It is a very nice town with elegant European-style buildings on land blessed with the nature of the ocean and mountains.
■ Solvang
Downtown with iconic Danish windmill houses and Danish style buildings. With authentic bakery and retail stores, you will feel as if you are visiting Denmark.
■ Shoreline Park
This park offers panoramic views of Santa Barbara along the coastline. Since Santa Barbara is the sister city of Toba City in Mie Prefecture, a torii gate has been erected at the stairs leading down to the beach.
■ Land and Sea Tours
Land and Sea Tours, Santa Barbara's famous sightseeing tour. A 90-minute guided tour of Santa Barbara on land and then on the water.
