The 37th Tozai National Convention
The 37th National Convention of Todo Itsukai will be held on November 5 （ Sun ）.
The 37th National Competition of Tsuzu-i Ikuta(都々逸)
will be held on November 5, （ Sunday ）.
The competition consists of a "Song Division" and a "Lyrics Division", and
the deadline for entries is September 15, （ Friday ）.

☆ What is "Todoitsu" ☆
It was founded in 1804 in Nakajuku, Isobe-mura, Kuji-gun, Hitachi-kuni
in the present day
It is one of the popular songs sung to the accompaniment of the shamisen
with 26 syllables of "seven ・ seven ・ seven ・ five", established by the first generation of Tsuyobo fan poets born in Isobe-cho, Hitachiota-shi, Hitachiota.
It became very popular at the end of the Edo period (1603-1867) at yoses in Edo (present-day Tokyo).
The delightful way of expressing nature in the poem, while at the same time skillfully capturing social satire,
has made it a favorite of many lovers, and it continues to be sung
even today.
