◎Structure and Characteristics of Godaikyoku-bune and river boats in the West Kamisou area
Mr. Tetsuhiro Matsui, Visiting Researcher, Chiba Prefectural Sekijuku Castle Museum, Member of the Japanese Boat Study Group, Member of the Society of Maritime History ).
It is said that until the era when railroads and automobiles became common, riverboats and godairyoku boats were used for distribution from the inland areas of the Boso Peninsula to Edo (present-day Tokyo).
This exhibition explains the real image of these boats, which were active until the first half of the Showa period (1926-1989), using drawings, old documents, photographs, models, ship carpentry tools, etc.
