＜ Planes of Fame Air Museum ＞
In 1952, founder Ed ・ Maloney opened the museum in Claremont as a place to display his aircraft collection. At the time, it was the only aviation museum west of the Mississippi River.
Later, in 1963, the museum moved to the Ontario Airport to expand its grounds and also began restoration work to get old aircraft back in the air. The original Japanese Zero fuselage was added to the collection at this time. As the number of aircraft owned continued to grow, the site became insufficient again, and in 1974 the museum moved to its current location at Chino Airport, a 14-acre site with more than 160 aircraft, 35 of which are airworthy. Here you can enjoy a guided tour of the museum.
