Tateyama Wild Bird Sanctuary will hold a hands-on class of
"Burning Art", which is popular as an interior decoration and gives a sense of the warmth of wood.
Burning art is an artwork created using the wood burning technique.
The original drawing is copied onto a veneer board using chako paper and an iron brush, and then traced with an electric pen to create the picture.
By changing the speed at which the pen is advanced, the thickness and shading of the lines are expressed, creating a work with a depth of color and the warmth of wood that is hard to believe that the wood has just been charred.
Materials and tools will be provided, so even those with no experience can participate.
