its "just a weirdo".

I mean, I was born/raised in Tokyo, but I don't have relatives or friends in Tokyo who will let me stay for free anymore, and I am a "cheapskate" at heart, so I don't want to pay 10,000 yen a night at a hotel.

I am also a person who can sleep anywhere as long as there is a toilet and a place to sleep. However, the last time I stayed at K's Guest House, a guy who was sleeping in a bed less than 2 meters away from me woke me up in the middle of the night with his loud snoring. So this time I will give up this guest house and stay at a capsule hotel nearby.

The hotel is quite different from the previous capsule hotels, however, as the beds are almost entirely surrounded by a hard board to block out the sound of the neighbors. Please find photos of the rooms at the following address.

This topic is about travel to Japan, but here is my experience with the low-cost lodging and hotels that are being discussed here.
When I traveled alone from Japan to Korea for 3 days and 2 nights 18 years ago,
my first accommodation was what we now call Air B&B (？ I may be using the wrong term) and the guests were mostly young Japanese.
I had a bunk bed with two young girls and the atmosphere was nice, but the floor was covered with their loose hairs.
NHK TV was on, which was nice, but the room was filled with the smell of kimchi. I was so fed up with this that I decided to stay at a major hotel the next time I travel to Korea. I booked a tour and other things after reading Rurubu as an independent traveler, but the hotel was a dive. The tour was a good memory for me. I had a good time talking with a nice Japanese young man.
We went to the border of North Korea, and on the way there, I felt that I saw a dog-eat-dog hut in an instant by a sign, and I felt bad about it.
The best part was the Korean dance show in the casino hotel. I would travel there again just for that.
Maybe I can see the show in LA too (or maybe a Korean dance troupe visiting the US)
Also, the famous Chongleimun gate, which was burned down in an arson attack, was still there and I felt something powerful and indescribable
I don't feel anything when I see a castle in Japan.

It was interesting to read about your very interesting trip to Korea.

At the Tokyo guesthouse （ hostel ） where I stay inexpensively, most of the guests are from Canada, Europe or Australia, except me, and occasionally there are young people from Taiwan or Thailand mixed in. For some reason, I have not met anyone from the US. Oh, only last time there was a young lady who was an English teacher in Akita and she said she was going back to Chicago.

They are young and can sleep in that octopus-like bedroom without any problem. They are young and can sleep in those tako-rooms with both men and women in them. Anyway, I am the only elderly Japanese geezer with a shaved head, and I feel like I am the only one who can feel uncomfortable. Even though it is Japan.
