Beware of Scam Predisposition Calls

This is an announcement from Chiba Chuo Police Station.

Today in Chuo City, we are aware of a number of forewarning calls and e-mails from a fraudulent person claiming to be from a cell phone company.
The content was that there is an unpaid internet bill from a person claiming to be from a cell phone company.

These tactics are followed by requests for money they do not have to pay, such as instructions to pay from an ATM at a convenience store or to purchase a prepaid card and give its number.
If you receive such a call, do not worry alone, but consult with your family or others and report it to the police.
