Special Exhibition "The Future of History － People ・ Objects ・ Data － that Tell the Past"

What would you like to leave behind in 100 years ？?

We understand the present through comparison with the past. The existence of the past is an indicator for us to live in the present and move forward into the future.
Objects from the past, such as records, tools of daily life, and memories passed down from generation to generation, tell us many things. When we pay attention to the activities of people who tried to pass these things on, we find historical significance in the mundane past and a will to pass them on to the people of the future. We, too, are trying to record the past of catastrophes and "coronal disasters" that have occurred in our time and pass them on to the future. The use of information technology （ and digital data ） has accelerated this process, and the way we communicate the past is about to change dramatically.
What kind of present will we convey to the people of the future? This exhibition introduces various activities to convey history, and considers clues for looking into the future. We hope that this exhibition will make visitors think about what we want to convey to the next 100 years, 2124 years from now.
