With each stroke of her spray paint can, Lone Star College-University Park (LSC-University Park) graduate Taylor Barnes transforms expansive blank canvases into vibrant narratives blending colors, shaping lines, and creating gradients that infuse her artwork with life. Barnes’ captivating murals celebrated in the art exhibit, "Taylord: Anemoia," are showcased in the art gallery of the new Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) building at LSC-University Park.

Lone Star College-University Park's (LSC-University Park) Criminal Justice Department hosted its inaugural True Crime Camp, on April 3, 2024. This immersive experience offered students a hands-on exploration of the various aspects of criminal justice, going beyond the image of traditional law enforcement.

Dr. Virginia M. Fraire assumed her role as the second president of Lone Star College-University Park on October 1, 2023. With nearly 30 years of experience in higher education, she is a distinguished administrator committed to eliminating educational barriers. Prior to joining Lone Star College-University Park, Dr. Fraire served as vice provost for student success and strategic initiatives at the University of Texas at El Paso and held various leadership roles during a two-decade tenure at Austin Community College.
